Editor of Racing Information Systems, Michael F. Hollander has been
named one of the ten most influential journalists in motor sports by
RACER magazine. He is a member of
the American Racing Press Association, the
Motor Press Guild for which he serves as Secretary, the
Society of Professional Journalists,
the Society of
Automotive Historians, tthe Midwest Auto Media
Association, the HTML Writers Guild and the
Society of Automotive
Analysts. He is a 31 year member of and serves as National Vice
President for the American Auto Racing Writers
and Broadcasters Association. He's written for the Associated Press,
NBC and ABC Radio Networks, The Daily Republic, AutoWeek, Money, and many
other publications. He's been heard on America On The Road,
both as a guest and more recently as a guest host. He is also a member of the Indianapolis 500 Oldtimers Club. An eight-year veteran of the United States Navy, where he rose to the rank of Data Systems Technician First Class and taught machine code programming, number systems, and Boolean algebra, Hollander is a graduate of Solano College and also attended the University of California at Davis. He has been profiled in the first edition of Who's Who in Advertising and has also been included in Who's Who in the West and more recently in Who's Who in America. He was honored with special recognition on the Car Craft "Drag Racing All-Star Team." His work has won numerous awards including the STP/AARWBA Writing Contest for his coverage of the Cannonball Baker Sea to Shining Sea Memorial Trophy Dash for AutoWeek and as Webmaster for The Motor Sports Forum. RIS Controller Sandra G. Horwitz, O.D. is a member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association and the South Bay Optometric Society. She holds a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and practices optometry in Lawndale, California. You can learn more about eyecare or make an appointment. Junior reporter Sharon Hollander completes the R.I.S. Headquarters family. She currently attends Redondo Union High School when she's not reporting at an event. She was a Brownie GirlScout and has appeared on stage in productions of "Oliver," "Joseph & The Technicolor Dreamcoat," "The King and I," and "Peter Pan" with the Metropolitan Educational Theatre Network.
